Since 1991, L’échangeur – CDC supports and advocates for contemporary dance. It fosters new works and choreographic production by organizing artist residencies and by coproducing performances. It helps give works better visibility through the festivals C’est comme ça ! and Kidanse, local coproduction programs, and networking. Finally, it proposes and runs arts education and cultural programming throughout the region in partnership with schools, hospitals, and social institutions, for amateurs and the general public.
Support for New Works and Production
Each year, L’échangeur – CDC gives guidance to between eight and ten dance troupes. These artists-in-residence benefit from financial, technical and material backing. L’échangeur – CDC also welcomes between 15 and 20 groups as part of the “Studio Libre” program, offering them time for experimentation and rehearsal.
Performance Distribution
L’échangeur – CDC programs 2 festivals: C’est comme ça! in October and Kidanse in March. Furthermore, L’échangeur – CDC helps their productions tour local, national, regional and international networks.

Open rehearsals, meetings with artists, hands-on workshops, guest educators, venue tours, collective projects… More than 400 artistic outreach events are held each year for locals.
