This interactive digital tool was created to help dance spectators from age 8 to 99 discover dance. This unique, fun-filled platform even allows users to make their own newspaper front page and can be consulted on Data-danse.fr. Initially developed by the Cuvier CDC d’Aquitaine and the Gymnase CDC de Roubaix, it is the product of long hours of experimentation and collaboration among several partners with a vested interest in dance (the Théâtre national de Chaillot, the Centre national de la danse, La Maison de la danse and l’A-CDC). Data-danse strives to tackle the codes of dance as a whole, to help spectators create narratives of their own experience, and to support arts and education professionals in their work. Full of accessible and useful information organized around points of reference (the theater, the street, all the places where one dances), this digital tool can be used autonomously for children and lay spectators, with teacher guidance by school groups or classes from age eight on, or as an organizing tool by cultural outreach professionals. It represents another step forward in the advancement of dance education.
